Q. Does Dipetane really work?
A. Yes. Independent laboratory tests and extensive field trials have been carried out over many years. You can view some of the results on our Test Results page. Dipetane also complies with the requirements of independent authorities in many countries.
Q. What do the independent authorities look for when assessing products?
A. Authorities strongly suggest that a product must have a real basic reason as to why it works. Dipetane works because it uniquely eliminates CCDs (Combustion Chamber Deposits) in all engines and boilers. Dipetane's unique ability to burn the carbon more completely means that the CCDs are not fed any more unburnt carbon and consequently are eliminated. The world renowned MIT (Massachusets Institute of Technology) and Dipetane Intl. have separately set out to show that CCDs, which occur in all engines or boilers, are the cause of wasted fuel and increased emissions and smoke CCD's attract and wastefully use up valuable units of oxygen (from the incoming air) and units of carbon (from the incoming fuel). When the CCDs are eliminated through the use of Dipetane all of the oxygen and carbon is used properly in the primary combustion.
It is also a requirement that the product has passed independent laboratory tests – Chassis Dynonometer tests, Carbon Balance tests and Brake Horse Power tests. Dipetane has all three of these tests, showing significant improvements when the tests were carried out under lab conditions by independent internationally accredited testing houses. See our Tests Results page for more details.
Q. What are CCDs and how do they affect my engine/boiler?
A. CCDs, or Carbon Chamber Deposits, build up in an engine because standard fuels do not burn the carbon completely. Carbon deposits form in combustion chambers where, partially burned, they stick to the chamber surfaces and injector nozzles. Dipetane prevents this build up and over a period of time, because of the heat and pressure in the combustion process, existing deposits are gradually starved, leaving the chamber free of deposits.
Q. Can I really save money using Dipetane?
A. Dipetane treated fuels burn more completely and more fuel is converted to energy, resulting in better fuel economy. It has been proved that Dipetane can help achieve up to 10% better fuel economy, representing definite cash savings.
Q. Why don't the major Oil Companies use Dipetane?
A. Currently all the major Oil Companies use detergents added to standard fuels to wash away the unburnt carbon as opposed to burning it. Dipetane encompasses the only known fuel technology that facilitates the proper (more complete) combustion of carbon in the fuel.
Q. Will using Dipetane adversely affect engine or boiler warranties?
A. No. Dipetane is a 100% hydrocarbon product which does not alter the original fuel specifications. For comprehensive test results please follow the SGS Redwood link
Q. Is Dipetane safe to handle and store?
A. Yes. Dipetane is a non-toxic, non-hazardous product with a flash point of 193°c (Closed Cap Test).
Q. Do Dipetane have adequate insurance cover?
A. Yes. Lloyds Insurances have continuously insured Dipetane since 1992 with a 100% no claims record - details availabe on request.
Q. Where can Dipetane be used?
A. Cars, vans, trucks, buses boats, farm and construction equipment, domestic and industrial boilers.
Q. What is the mix ratio of Dipetane to standard fuel?
A. 1 litre of Dipetane treats 200 litres of fuel.
Q. Which fuels can Dipetane be used with?
A. Dipetane can be used with all liquid fuels.
Q.Where can I buy it?
A. Send us your details using the Contact page or call us.
Q. How often should I use Dipetane and can I use too much?
A. Dipetane has been designed for continuous use and there is no danger from overdosing. For best results use the ratio 1:200 for all liquid fuels.
Q. Does Dipetane affect the specification of the fuel it is used with?
A. No. All treated fuels stay within their original specification.
